Big Hit Music announced that BTS’ V will release his new single titled “FRI(END)S” on Friday, March 15. A press release also announcing the single stated that it is “rooted in the Pop Soul R&B genre,” and added that the forthcoming tune “delivers relatable and witty romance through lyrics written entirely in English.”
In anticipation of the new song release, the K-pop star released a short film, featuring the word “friends” spelled out in various formats, along with different combinations of letters reading “dead,” “end” and “desire.” You can check it out: here.
V has also released 2 previews of his video for “FRI(END)S”, the first of which featured a scene of him sitting among customers at the diner; you can check that out: here. The K-pop singer later released a second preview, which shows him quietly eating leftovers at a dining room table before the scene changes to show a fight at a diner and V lying with a pool of blood under his head. “FRI(END)S” marks the first new piece of music from V since late 2023. Six months ago, he released his debut solo project, an EP titled Layover, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “FRI(END)S” is out on 3/15 via BigHit; for more information head here.
