A man from Mooreland is facing two felonies after crashing an alleged stolen vehicle Monday afternoon.

Billy Wayne, 28, was charged with larceny of an automobile and possession of a stolen vehicle in Woodward County District Court Tuesday.

Wayne allegedly stole his grandmother’s 1990 Cadillac from the Mooreland before crashing the vehicle along Williams Ave. in Woodward. The grandmother allegedly gave Wayne the keys to the vehicle to retrieve an item from the trunk, but she says that he drove off.

In Woodward, Wayne crashed the vehicle into a pole at the Hutch’s C-Store near the intersection of Williams and Downs Ave. All four wheels were off the ground, with the front of the vehicle hitting the pole and the back left tire was stuck in a tree next to the pole.

Wayne refused treatment by EMS on scene and was allegedly driving with a suspended drivers license. He was then transported to AllianceHealth Woodward before he was booked in the Woodward County Jail.

Wayne’s total bond has been set at $30,000.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 2 for both charges.
