Oklahoma State Senator Bryce Marlatt has resigned from the legislature, effective immediately.
Marlatt, who is from Woodward, was booked and released after posting $5,000 bond Tuesday morning in his sexual battery case.
The former legislator stands accused of making sexual advances toward a female Uber driver back in late June. The driver also told police that Marlatt forcefully grabbed her while she was driving and kissed her on the neck.
Charges were filed in Oklahoma County last week.
At 9:05 a.m., Marlatt was booked at the Oklahoma County Jail and after posting bond, was released shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Just before 10 a.m., Marlatt was arraigned by an Oklahoma County judge and will appear in court on Thursday, October 12.
