Rep. Casey Murdock was the first Republican to announce that he would run for the state senate seat in District 27 left vacant by Bryce Marlatt, who resigned Tuesday.
Now, the first Democratic candidate has announced.
Amber Jensen of Woodward will seek the Democratic nomination in the special election, as she made the announcement on Facebook Thursday night.
Jensen is the Madam Chair of the Woodward County Democratic Party. She is an office manager at Jensen Renovations and is a co-owner of Maiden Name Designs.
Filing for the special election is Oct. 2-4. The primaries are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12 and the General Election will take place on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018.
