Woodward Police Arrest Suspect in Thursday Shooting

The Woodward Police Department made an arrest Friday morning after a shooting occurred Thursday night around 9 p.m. in 1700 block of 12th street.

Officers arrested Harrison Williams, 20, on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to Assistant Police Chief Billy Parker.

The victim has been identified as Steven Hicks, 24, of Geary. He was shot in the abdomen and his condition is currently unknown. According to Parker, his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Hicks was reportedly shot during an altercation in the 1700 block of 12th Street and was taken to the hospital by ambulance then by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, according to officials.

Williams was set to be arraigned Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
