Woodward Schools to remain open April 2, will have representation at walk out

Woodward Public Schools announced Thursday morning that classes will be in session April 2, as both the Oklahoma House and Senate passed an historic revenue package that will provide teachers with a pay raise and fund education. Governor Mary Fallin said she will sign the bill.

The Oklahoma Education Association has acknowledged the work of lawmakers this week, but has restated since the bill passed in the House Monday night that it is still short of what they’re asking for, with the OEA still planning on a walk out Monday, April 2 and rallying at the Capitol.

Woodward will have a contingency of teachers in Oklahoma City Monday.
